Our Autumn/Fall product updates have landed. The updates focus on making FourJaw easier to use day to day.
The biggest change is a new operator tablet experience that makes it clearer what job is in progress, what comes next and how production quantities relate to that work. We’ve also added more control to Work Order Management, richer downtime context, faster dashboards and a series of usability improvements across the platform.
We hope these updates help your teams work more effectively and support your wider operational goals.
What's new? Work Order Management, Downtime Tracking and Operator Tools
-
01. Operator Work Order Management: Keep teams focused on the right job
-
Status: Available

Image shows an example of the FourJaw operator tablet showing current and next work orders.
-
Operators can now see the job they’re working on and what comes next directly from the tablet dashboard, without searching through a longer job list.
-
From the same workspace, they can open job details, start, pause or complete work, and immediately see the next priority once a job is finished.
-
Operators can also search for jobs or create one if it isn’t already available.
-
Part counts can now be linked directly to the active job, helping production quantity data stay connected to the work being completed.
-
Notes can also be added to individual part count logs, giving managers extra context when output differs from expectations.
The result is less time spent working out what to do next, clearer priorities on the shop floor, and better visibility for managers into what actually happened during the shift.
-
02. Work Order Management: Keep production plans accurate
-
Status: Available now

The image shows FourJaw Work Order Management showing production jobs and machine assignments and highlights the editing feature.
Since launching Work Order Management over the summer, we’ve continued to make it easier to keep production plans accurate as things change on the shop floor.
-
You can now edit work orders and operations directly in FourJaw, including target quantities, due dates, scheduled production time, estimated run time, assigned machines and notes.
-
Any fields that differ from the original imported data are clearly marked, helping you see what has changed without risking those updates being quietly overwritten.
-
You can also create one-off work orders manually, bulk-delete work that is no longer required, and find jobs more quickly with improved filters, persistent sorting and clearer sync information.
Together, these updates give planners more control over the production schedule without having to return to the original source file every time something changes.
-
03. Downtime Tracking: Add the context behind every stop
-
Status: Available now

The image shows FourJaw downtime timeline showing operator notes against machine stops.
A downtime reason tells you what happened. A note helps explain why.
-
Operators can now add extra context when labelling downtime directly at the machine, with that information available wherever teams review performance.
-
Notes are visible on the machine timeline and in downtime reports, helping managers understand the context behind individual events without having to chase operators later.
-
Long downtime events can also be split into the individual reasons that made them up, while shift information is now visible on the timeline to provide additional context when analysing performance.
The result is richer downtime data that helps teams move beyond simply measuring lost time to understanding what caused it and what to improve.
-
03. Production Planning and usability improvements
-
Status: Available now

The image shows a FourJaw production dashboard in dark mode that shows live machine and work order performance, machine downtime by category, and status breakdown by machine.
-
Improved planning calendar: Switch between day and week views, filter by asset and work with a more stable calendar experience.
-
Dark mode: Choose your preferred view from My Account, whether you’re in the office or on the shop floor.
-
Full-screen auto-scroll: Ideal for wall-mounted displays used on the shop floor that need to keep information moving without interaction.
-
Faster dashboards and reports: Data widgets now load more quickly.
What’s next for Production Planning and Reporting
We’re continuing to develop how FourJaw supports planning, shop floor execution and everyday factory administration.
-
Planning that reflects the real production plan
We’re working on bringing the planning calendar closer to the work itself, with clearer visibility of what is scheduled, where it is planned and how much capacity is available.
-
Keeping work order data accurate with less admin
We’re looking at ways to make it easier to tidy up unfinished work, correct mistakes where they happen and give manufacturers more control over what operators can see and act on.
-
Settings and reporting in one place
We’re also developing reporting to answer more operational questions, including analysing performance by shift and understanding how often events happen, rather than only how long they lasted.
